Daniel Carrasco,
MD, board certified dermatologist, is now providing services in dermatology at
the Llano Memorial Healthcare System Lake Area Specialty Clinic, 201 Bay West Blvd.
in Horseshoe Bay.
Born and raised in
San Antonio, Dr. Carrasco received his medical
degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Memorial Hermann
Hospital in Houston. Following his internship, he accepted a position as a
dermatopharmacology (clinical trials fellow) at the
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
He was then recruited to complete a
fellowship in New York City at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he
supervised the clinical trials unit at Mount Sinai’s
Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Carrasco went
on to complete his residency training in dermatology at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital. During his fellowships and residency, he was a
co-investigator in over 50 clinical trials. Also during this time period, Dr.
Carrasco presented 12 posters at the American Academy of Dermatology, published over 25 scientific manuscripts in
medical journals, and wrote 3 book chapters. In his second year of
residency, he was awarded a Resident Educational Award by the Dermatology
Foundation, and, consequently, was appointed chief resident during his senior
year of training.
After 3 years of
private practice in Houston, Dr. Carrasco
decided to make Austin his permanent home and established Austin Dermatology
Associates in August last year. His practice is dedicated to the treatment of all skin diseases, including
treatment of skin cancer, general dermatologic skin surgery, and cosmetic
dermatologic procedures.
Dr. Carrasco
recently expanded his practice to include the Highland Lakes
seeing patients at the Lake Area Specialty Clinic every Thursday
afternoon. For more information on his practice or to schedule an
