There is a new name and face in the healthcare communities of Llano and Marble Falls. Peter Davenport, MD opened his practice in family medicine at the Hoerster Clinic in Marble Falls recently. According to Kevin Leeper, LMHS CEO, "Dr. Davenport, whose specialty is Family Practice with obstetric privileges is a welcome addition to our Marble Falls Clinic. He also provides coverage in the Emergency Department at Llano Memorial Hospital."
Dr. Davenport was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He received a B.A. in Neuroscience from Colorado College, in Colorado Springs, Colorado and earned his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed both his internship and residency in Family Medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX and is a member of the American Board of Family Practice.
Randall Grimshaw, MD, Medical Director of the Scott & White Hill Country Region stated, "We are pleased that Peter elected to join our group. He is a very dedicated and concerned physician as evidenced by his service with the Peace Corp in Togo, Africa working to improve health issues in the area." Dr. Davenport was also instrumental in creating a not-for-profit organization, Hope Through Health, in order to encourage the formation of international partnerships, handle charitable donations and expand the potential for health based interventions outside of Togo.
Dr. Davenport chose to practice in our area because of his strong interest in rural medicine and the opportunity to have a full scope of practice including OB. Currently he is in clinic Wednesday and Friday, 9AM to 5PM; clinic days will be expanded to meet patient demand. The Marble Falls Hoerster Clinic is located in the Plaza II Building at 703 N US 281.
