The Lake Area Specialty Clinic began as collaboration between the Lake Area Health Center Foundation, owners of the facility, and LMHS with the desire by both to enhance the specialty healthcare resources available locally. With the opening of the Lake Area Specialty Clinic area residents have the opportunity to receive specialized healthcare services closer to their home, minimizing the need to travel elsewhere, thus fulfilling one part of our mission statement – providing quality healthcare close to home.

Discussions are ongoing with other medical specialties about offering services at the Lake Area Specialty Clinic. 

The Lake Area Specialty Clinic and LMHS Sleep Center are located just across from the Hoerster Lake Area Health Center in Horseshoe Bay.  Laboratory and radiology services  are available at the Hoerster Lake Area Health Center  in the event either is required by a specialist.  The LMHS Sleep Center is the only American Academy of Sleep Medicine Accredited faility in the Highland Lakes.
