January 6, 2003 marked another milestone for Llano Memorial Healthcare System and their commitment to "building healthy communities and providing quality healthcare close to home" when Hoerster Lake Area Health Center first opened its doors to patients. With the opening of this facility, Horseshoe Bay now joins the communities of Llano, San Saba, Kingsland and Marble Falls who have healthcare services "close to home".

Hoerster Lake Area Health Center offers primary health care, immunizations, laboratory, radiology services, and minor surgical procedures.
