Physician coverage is 24-hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, in the Llano Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. The ED is staffed by personnel certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, as well as being active in the Trauma Care Network. 

As part of Llano Memorial’s commitment to patient and their needs for transfers, a helipad is conveniently located outside the East Emergency Department entrance. Air transport is available to medical centers in Austin, Temple or San Antonio. 

The newly expanded ED provides an additional 1555 square feet, accommodating two new treatment areas, a new admitting/registration area and a separate waiting area for emergency department families. The expanded ED is compliant with federal privacy regulations, and has an entrance for patients brought in by ambulance and another entrance for patients who come in under personal transport. Access to areas of the ED is restricted to authorized personnel.
